Performing and Fine Arts Curriculum Associate Ken Pollitt reached out to Bill Fortgang, an old friend and colleague of his who is the Director of Music at East Rockaway High School, to organize the event that would help restore lost and damaged instruments and facilitate the rebuilding of this destroyed school district.

Students from all grades, from both East Rockaway and Jericho, sang, danced, or performed stand-up comedy as entertainment for the night.

Principal Joe Prisinzano, Director of Public Information and Community Relations Denise Nash and Pollitt presented the East Rockaway Board of Education and their Music Department with a check for $20,000.00 on Jan. 15, but that doesn’t include over $ 5,000 worth of instruments, equipment, lesson books and supplies.
