Jericho Students Roll with Arata Sushi

Some say that it’s very hard to find good sushi on Long Island, but many Jericho students have found that Arata Sushi in Syosset dispels that rumor.

Jericho students love eating at Arata. Alumnus Melissa P. believes that “compared to other sushi places on Long Island, it has the freshest fish and tastes the best.” She and senior Emily H. both like to order the spicy tuna and crispy rice sushi rolls. Emily H. prefers Arata Sushi over other restaurants, saying, “The food is really good and the service is fast. It has definitely become my go-to sushi place.” These students go to Arata Sushi at least twice a month. For those who are gluten free, senior Nikki R. believes that the love roll with no crunch is the best on their menu. She also said, “Arata is better than other local sushi restaurants because their special rolls are always very creative and always taste good.”

The torched spicy tuna and crispy rice is one of the most popular items on the menu.

The restaurant itself is very small and gets very busy, which means you should always make a reservation at least a day in advance. The service is always efficient and everyone is on top of their jobs. You are never waiting for your food for an extremely long period of time. What also makes it convenient is that they deliver, so if you’re not in the mood to leave your house, order in!

The hot spot has an extensive menu and you can’t go wrong with anything you order. My personal favorite is their California roll with a seaweed salad on the side. Also, my friends and I love ordering miso soup and edamame to start. Everything always tastes fresh and all of the employees are very attentive. Whenever you’re in the mood for sushi, Arata Sushi is the place to go.
