Super, Super Bowls

A new local hot spot has emerged in the Jericho community. Super Bowls has locations all over Long Island in Sayville, Patchogue, and now Syosset. The restaurant chain is mostly known for their acai bowls, which have become a popular food trend.

This delicious acai bowl from Super Bowls is topped with granola, almond butter, bananas, berries, and coconut.

Essentially, acai bowls are a thick smoothie. At Super Bowls, they blend together frozen acai berries, strawberries, bananas, and soy milk in order to make their acai bowls. One thing they do not lack are toppings. The acai bowls come with two layers of homemade granola, fresh strawberries, blueberries, bananas, coconut and a little honey. If those toppings don’t suit your taste buds, you can choose from a range of other toppings including options such as pineapple, mango, homemade almond butter, homemade peanut butter, Nutella, and chia seeds. Jericho senior Fallon B. said, “I love Super Bowls because of the variety of toppings you can choose from. Also, they are really healthy for you.”

Other than their delicious taste, acai bowls contain a large number of health benefits. The acai berry is referred to as a super-food by many nutritionists for a multitude of reasons. According to the Mayo Clinic website, the acai berries contain antioxidants, fiber and heart healthy fats.

Super Bowls has quickly become a popular location for Jericho students. Jericho High School junior Jordan L. is a frequent customer and loves their acai bowls. He said, “The acai bowls at Super Bowls are the best I’ve ever had. I have been to many places before, but none are as good as the ones there.” Sophomore Jamie S. said “I really like the acai bowls and once you order it, it doesn’t take that long of a time to make.”

Whether it’s for a snack, breakfast, lunch or even dinner, make sure you visit on an empty stomach because you’ll want to finish the whole thing!
