JV Girls Volleyball Goes Undefeated

The 2017 Jericho High School JV girls volleyball team has executed an undefeated season. The team worked extremely hard to win every game they played. Coach D’Antonio was very pleased with the team’s progress. “I think this is a great season, and I’m incredibly proud that we went undefeated. They’re a great group of girls who really got along, and it was a pleasure coaching them on the court and greeting them when I’d see them in the hallway. They made this season one I’ll never forget,” she said.

The team’s last match against New Hyde Park, a tough team to beat, was menacing. However, the girls persevered and won three games out of five, giving them their last and final win this year. Sophomore and setter Drew N. said, “I think we’ve had a very successful season. Our team really knows how to pull together, and when we’re losing we know how to calm down and cooperate. We really play as one unit.”

Every girl on the court played her heart out each game which was a huge factor in the team’s success. Sophomore Alanna P. who played both the middle and outside positions said, “I think our volleyball team was pretty solid this year, considering that we had an undefeated streak.”

The team set out with a goal to have an undefeated season after having suffered only one loss last year. After overcoming obstacles along the way, their goal was accomplished.

The team shows their intense focus while playing against Valley Stream North.
