Ethan Brown, Editor-in-Chief

Ethan Brown is a senior and the Editor-in-Chief. Since he joined as a freshman, Ethan has
loved to conduct interviews and tell stories about the most pressing topics in his community. He
has reported on school news, the Board of Education, plus local and international sports. Over
the summer, he wrote for Anton Newspapers. Outside of journalism, Ethan often will be on the
tennis court or reading a good book. He is more than thrilled to lead the JerEcho.

Ava Albicocco, Exectutive Editor

Ava Albicocco is a fourth-year JerEcho reporter and executive editor. She enjoys writing student-interest stories that appeal to all students and editing the work of other reporters. Ava’s favorite subject in school is English. She enjoys reading and writing argumentative papers. Outside of school, Ava enjoys playing soccer and basketball. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends. This year, she hopes to enhance her writing skills and to write a variety of articles in different formats. She comes from a long line of JerEcho editors and is excited to continue the tradition of being a part of the JerEcho staff.

Arabella Balgobind, Editor-in-chief

Arabella is a Senior and Editor-in-chief of the Jericho News Network. She loves all types of music, film, TV shows, and literature. Arabella has been a part of the JerEcho since her freshman year and has formed a profound love for conversing with people from all walks of life through the interviewing process of reporting. Her strengths lie in producing and editing video reports, especially for the JerEcho’s satire publication. In terms of her future, she plans on pursuing screenwriting and becoming successful in the film and television industry. When time permits she loves to read, her favorite book being a memoir by Colin Jost titled “A Very Punchable Face.” She hopes to bring a fresh style of writing in her pieces that will engage the students of Jericho during her last year as a reporter and editor.

Samara Mehta, Webmaster

Samara Mehta is a senior and the webmaster for the JerEcho. This is Samara’s fourth year with the JerEcho (including one year of Sports Journalism!) and her third year as Webmaster. Samara is currently in the BOCES EMT program and on track to receive her EMR license. Samara has an interest in broadcast journalism and student-interest stories and hopes to pursue more of that this year. Samara finds comfort in her friends, her family, and through baking. Samara is a long-standing member of the JerEcho team and is excited to see what the future holds.

Remi Webb, Associate Editor

Remi Webb, Associate Editor Remi Webb is a fourth-year JerEcho reporter, the Associate Editor. Her interest in becoming a reporter started in elementary school when she would write stories and essays often and she is looking forward to all that this year will bring. Remi loves reading all different types of magazines and hard news stories. Her goal is to focus on student-interest stories and to write articles that all students are able to relate to. Remi enjoys fashion business and would like to pursue these interests later in life. She truly enjoys hanging out with her family and friends and loves to watch movies. Remi is a proud member of the JerEcho team and is excited to continue writing this year.

Nicole Barnes, Reporter

Nicole Barnes is a sophomore starting her second year for the JerEcho. She is passionate about reading, writing, and photography. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music and hanging out with friends. One of her favorite books is The Poems of Nakahara Chūya, and she hopes to become a poet and/or author someday. Nicole strives to further enhance her writing skills and is looking forward to an exciting year.

Sean Chae, Senior Managing Editor

Sean is a senior currently working as the Senior Managing Editor for the JerEcho. His love for
writing has led to his continuous involvement within the club through both reporting and editing.
He looks forward to working with the JerEcho during his final year in high school.

Ryan Fistel, Publicity Coordinator

Ryan is a junior and the Publicity and Outreach Coordinator for the JerEcho. She likes to dance and play lacrosse. In her free time, she likes to go on runs and hang out with her friends. Her passion from journalism came from watching hre older sisters and brother pursue careers in journalism. She is looking forward for what this year will bring!

Madison Kane, Junior Managing Editor

Madison is a Junior and the Junior Managing Editor. She is starting her third-year working for
JerEcho. Last year, Madison furthered her journalism career when she began an internship with
the Syosset-Jericho Tribune in May of 2022. She has since had multiple published articles.
Madison’s favorite pieces to write are investigative reports. She looks forward to learning how to
further her editing skills and exploring different writing techniques.

Madison Lee, Reporter

Madison Lee is a senior in her 3rd year of journalism classes. She has lived in Jericho for all her life, and strives to improve her writing skills and learn more about being a journalist and reporter. She hopes to do her best while contributing to the JerEcho and her community by writing quality and interesting articles. She enjoys expressing her creativity through art, baking, and writing. Her interests are in literature, fashion, and the environment, and hopes to be able to explore her passions this year in her writing . She is excited to make the best of the school year and make a lasting impact with her work in her final year.

Willa Lefkowicz, Publicity and Outreach Coordinator

Willa Lefkowicz is the Publicity and Outreach Coordinator and a third-year reporter for the
JerEcho. Her interest in journalism kicked off when she found her love for reading at a young
age. Willa’s favorite pieces to read are opinionated writing and culture stories. When Willa
isn’t studying or doing homework, she can be found on her phone, hanging out with friends and
family, reading, or working out. She is super enthusiastic about being a member of the JerEcho,
and she is looking forward to seeing what this year has to offer for her!

Shea Gang, Reporter

Shea is a junior reporter and this is her second-year reporting for the JerEcho. Ever since joining the JerEcho last year, she has been published multiple times in the Syosset-Jericho Tribune. Since she was young and could read, she has always had a passion to write. When she’s not working on her next report, she loves to read and ski in her free time. She looks forward to furthering her journalism skills this year!

Musa Ma, Reporter

Musa Ma is a Junior at Jericho High School and is interested in journalism. He grew up in Dubai and has been living in Jericho, New York since 2019. Musa enjoys playing/watching baseball as he is a Cardinals fan. He also enjoys listening to music, and podcasts. He is very outgoing and willing to have friendly debates on all topics. Musa believes in conservatism and is a Republican. Musa enjoys history, geography, and speaking about politics. He is thrilled to be a part of the JerEcho and excited to work with others.

Farrah Park, Reporter

Farrah is a sophomore and second year as a JerEcho reporter. She loves to dance different styles, bake goods, make crafts and play with her two dogs. She’s artistic and likes to be organized. Farrah is excited to be involved with the JerEcho this year and make some new memories.

Jessy Siegmann, Reporter

Jessy is a freshman at Jericho High School. It is her first year reporting for The JerEcho. She loves to read and write. She hopes to learn about different writing styles and try new ones this school year. In her free time, she likes to hang out with her friends and family. Her sister, Tyler, was also a writer for the JerEcho.

Olivia Robbins, Reporter

Olivia is a freshman, and it is her first year reporting for the JerEcho. She is so excited for what the JerEcho has to offer. Olivia has always had a passion for writing ever since 5th grade. She hopes to learn about different writing styles and about all the different types of news. In her free time, she likes to hang out with her friends and family. She’s looking forward to improving her writing and can’t wait to learn more about journalism.

Sasha Savel, Reporter

Sasha Savel is a first year writer and reporter for the JerEcho. She is a freshman and will graduate in 2026. Sasha has shown her talent for writing since she was little. She is outgoing and good at getting what she wants, showing how much of a natural she is at journalism. When Sasha isn’t reporting, she’s hanging with family, listening to music and laughing with friends. Sasha is excited to contribute her time and greatness to the JerEcho.

Mia Shu, Reporter

Mia is a first-year reporter here at the JerEcho. She hopes to contribute more to the JerEcho throughout her years here as she loves to write stories full of interesting content, as well as writing fiction stories. Mia loves letting people know about the latest news and enjoys creating all sorts of illustrations. Give her a topic to write about, consider it written!  If Mia’s not writing, you’ll probably find her playing video games, drawing, or listening to punk pop.

Archana Hariharan, Reporter

Archana is a freshman who has always loved to write, especially creative writing. She loved to write even at a very young age, and still does to this day. Archana joined Journalism because she felt as though she could make a huge difference in the school if she had a chance to express her thoughts and Journalism was the way to go. In her free time Archana loves to cook, bake and take photos. One of Archana’s favorite things to do is go on walks or just be outside in general. Whether it’s going to the park or going zip-lining you can always find her doing something thrilling.

Bhavin Balgobind, Reporter

Bhavin Balgobind is a freshman reporter. He loves football, baseball and listening to music. He loves the Yankees, Giants and Knicks. His favorite subject is social studies because he likes learning about the past. He spends time with his friends in his free time. He is excited to learn more about journalism.

Zoya Khan, Reporter

Zoya is a freshman and a first year reporter for the JerEcho. She has loved to write ever since she was little, and always wanted to be a part of a newspaper. She has always wished for her writing to have an impact on those around her, and wants her writing to make a difference. When she is not studying or doing homework, she loves to read, play guitar and play soccer. She loves to sing and express her feelings in both her music and her writing, and she is so excited to be a part of the JerEcho this year!

Lilly Mark, Reporter

It is Lilly’s first year as a JerEcho reporter. Her love for journalism sparked at a very young age when she learned she loved to freewrite. Lilly is also very invested in and loves hearing interesting news stories. She is very excited to be taking New Media/Journalism and hopes to be a part of the JerEcho for all her years at JHS. Outside of school, Lilly loves playing soccer, cooking, going on walks, hanging out with friends, listening to music and watching interesting TV shows. Lilly is looking forward to an amazing year and is so happy to start her journey as a reporter!

Ella Webb, Reporter

Ella is a freshman and first year reporter. She has found her passion in writing ever since elementary school, especially when it comes to writing creatively. She loves to write about things she truly has strong feelings about. Some activities Ella partakes in during her free time are working out, walking, listening to music, watching TV shows/movies and hanging out with her friends and family. Ella is thrilled to start her journey as a JerEcho reporter!

Sydney Chen, Reporter

Sydney Chen is a freshman. This is her first year being a part of the JerEcho and first time interviewing people. She’s a creative writer and a patient listener. She loves listening to different interesting stories. She’s also a member of the theater and engineering clubs. In her free time, she loves to bake, dance and choreograph her own dances.

Lauren Benyamen, Reporter

Lauren Benyamen is a freshman and first-year reporter. Lauren has always liked getting to view other people’s perspectives on things and to write about it. She decided that the JerEcho was one of the most interesting and interactive courses she could take. In her free time Lauren likes to read mystery novels, cook and listen to music. When she’s not writing she’s at home hanging with her family or at church with her friends. Lauren is very excited to contribute her time to the JerEcho this year.

Katherine Lee, Reporter

Katherine Lee is in her Junior year of high school and is very passionate about creative writing and journalism. Although this is her first year in the JerEcho, Katherine writes and edits articles as well as poetry for the Chinese Honor Society Daily China website, The Jericho Environmentalist, Canon Future Authors Summer Workshop, and the school’s magazine, Pegasus. Outside of the literary world, Katherine spends her time competitively debating, recording as a podcast host, researching in a science lab, advocating for issues she is passionate about, and hanging out with friends and family. Katherine is looking forward to making an impact in the JerEcho this year!

Janice Kwon, Reporter

Janice Kwon is a freshman and first-year JerEcho reporter. She had always loved writing since a young age, which led her to journalism. Janice joined the JerEcho in order to improve her writing skills. In her free time when she’s not procrastinating or doing homework, she loves listening to music, watching films and playing bass guitar. Janice is very much excited to start her journey as a JerEcho reporter. 

Matthew Weissman, Reporter

Matthew Weissman is a freshman and first-year reporter for the JerEcho. From a young age, he has always loved journalism and has been reading the newspaper delivered to his house every day ever since he could read. He is excited to be writing articles of his own this year. In his free time, you can find Matthew at a Mets game, cheering on the Rays when the Mets are doing bad, and playing MLB the Show.

Sara Zimmerman, Reporter

Sara is a freshman and it is her first year with the JerEcho. She has always had a passion for writing from a young age, and she joined Journalism in hopes of being able to improve her skills and learn more about Jericho staff, students, and the community through interviewing them. In her free time, Sara loves drawing, watching movies and spending time with her friends and family. Sara is looking forward to reporting for the JerEcho this year!

Sunny Kamadjeu, Reporter

Sunny is a sophomore and a first-year reporter for the JerEcho. Reading the stories he wrote when he was little, Sunny knew he had a knack for writing. Sunny expresses his thoughts and reflects on recent events through writing. When he’s stressed, disappointed, worried or happy, he quickly grabs his pen and notebook and gets to journaling. Sunny also loves relaxing under his duvet, drawing, reading, running and watching anything that has to do with natural history.  Sunny believes the JerEcho will help nurture his writing skills and open him up to events around the world and in Jericho.

Annie Zhou, Reporter

Annie Zhou is a first-year JerEcho reporter. When it comes to journalism, she wants to pratice her oral English and improve her writing ability. She is looking forward to everything she can bring to this year. Annie is interested in everything about pets, and has three dogs. Annie is good at drawing, likes to travel with her family during the holidays and is very happy to be a part of the JerEcho staff!

Jack Komson, Reporter

Jack Komson is a senior taking Sports Journalism. He loves to play sports, especially baseball and volleyball. He is also a big fan of the New York Jets, Mets, and Knicks. In his free time, Jack likes to hang out with his family and friends. Jack’s passion for sports came from playing and watching sports growing up. In the future, he wants to work for ESPN as a broadcaster, reporter, or analyst. His goal this year is to strengthen his interviewing and editing skills. Jack is very excited to be participating in Sports Journalism this year!

Eva Brown, Reporter

Eva Brown is a freshman, and this is her first year on the JerEcho and sports journalism. Eva is so excited to learn how to interview and be on the sidelines during a sports game. When Eva is not doing homework or playing volleyball, she loves to hang out with her friends and watch Netflix. She loves to play tennis, volleyball, and bake.  Eva can’t wait to learn how to create sports articles and learn how to use the camera equipment. She is thrilled to be working this year on the JerEcho.

Jack Person, Reporter

Jack Person is a senior at Jericho High School starting his first year working with Jerecho. Ever since Jack was young he loved watching and playing sports. His love for sports has only grown. His favorite sports are football, basketball, and lacrosse. Jack plays for the Jericho Varsity Football and Lacrosse team, and has been since he started his first ever year at Jericho Schools his freshman year. In his free time he enjoys watching college sports and his beloved Philadelphia Eagles, listening to music, or playing video games. He is very excited for what Sports Journalism will teach him.

Alex Edelman, Reporter

Alex Edelman is a freshman, and it is her first year reporting for the JerEcho. She is so excited about what her sports journalism class will entail for the coming year. Alex has always loved taking photos and learning about sports. She loves to write about what’s on her mind and share her ideas with her peers. In her free time she dances, hangs out with family and friends, and takes many photographs. She hopes to improve her writing and reporting skills.

Liam Feldman, Reporter

Liam Feldman is a freshman and first-year sports reporter. Ever since he was 5 he’s had an extreme interest in soccer and enjoyed watching and learning from professionals on TV. Outside of school, he enjoys playing soccer and spending time with his family, dogs, teammates on his travel team, and friends from school. This year, Liam looks forward to conducting interviews for athletes and hopes to contribute a lot.

Anthony Hirtzel

Anthony Hirtzel is a freshman and a first-year JerEcho reporter. He is very interested in sports journalism and learning about sports in general. He loves to watch and play many different sports. Anthony has been interested in writing and reading all of his life. His passion for sports and journilism started at a young age so that is why he chose to take the sports journilism class this year. in his free time, Anthony likes to listen to music, ride on his bike, and hang out with his friends. He is excited to improve his writing and photography skills this year. 

Joanna Kwak, Reporter

Joanna Kwak is a freshman and she is a first-year sports reporter on JerEcho. Joanna’s interest in Journalism has always been marked by her love for connecting with people and hearing their stories. She always had a deep love for sports, and this passion naturally led her to journalism. When she’s not writing, She likes to play soccer, bake, and hang out with friends. She is looking forward to reporting for JerEcho this year.

Henry Elkowitz, Reporter

 Henry Elkowitz is 14 years old and a freshman. He is a part of the Sports Journalism class which he chose because he loves sports and reviewing and interviewing at games.  He plays lacrosse, hockey, and soccer.  In his free time he  hangs out with friends, family, and plays for a travel lacrosse team. Henry decided to join sports journalism because his brothers’ friends recommended this class,.This year Henry looks forward to interviewing at sporting events and  making hype reels.

Jed Lin, Reporter

Jed Lin is a Jericho student that has been here for 1 year and now is a freshman, and he is interested in sports journalism,and one of the staff for JerEcho. He is good at photographing what happens on the court, and he has a pretty good Editing skill, but he doesn’t like to write and work in a big group. He also joined a different sports team in Jericho, and he is also one of the concert bands. Outside school he likes to check out some sports news and play sports. He also has a great passion for music. In this new year he will give his best efforts for JerEcho.

Achint Kaur, Reporter

Achint Kaur is a freshman at Jericho High School and in her first year reporting for the JerEcho.  Achint joined the c Sports Journalism class because she is interested in interviews and being on the sidelines of games. She is excited to gain experience in the world of journalism and wants to learn how to interview better. Achint loves to volunteer, bake, and hang out with her friends. Her favorite thing to do is go on vacation with family and friends. Whether it’s going to a freezing cold place or a scorching hot one, you can always find her outside exploring the world.

Aleeza Gani, Reporter

Aleeza Gani is a freshman in high school. It’s her first year being part of Sports Journalism and the JerEcho. Aleeza’s interest in journalism sparked when she joined the Journalism Club in 5th grade. Since then, she has gotten involved in journalism as much as possible and has been eager to learn more about it. Her favorite pieces to read are news articles and magazines. Aleeza enjoys playing volleyball, singing, learning languages, listening to music, and going on walks in her free time. She’s looking forward to improving her writing skills and is thrilled to contribute her ideas to the JerEcho.

Aahana Arya, Reporter

Aahana Arya is a senior and a first-year reporter for the JerEcho. Ever since she was a kid she was interested in reading and writing, especially if no prompts were given. Alongside her love for journalism, she takes a keen interest in staying updated with the latest in the world of sports, especially tennis and soccer. When she’s not doing schoolwork, she loves to hang out with her friends and play with her dog. She is eagerly anticipating her final year at Jericho, where her involvement with the JerEcho promises to be an exciting journey!

Sam Taubes, Reporter

Sam Taubes is a senior. He loves to play sports, especially baseball, volleyball and throws shot put for track. He also loves watching sports. His favortie teams are Mets, Penguins, Bills and Knicks. He listens to rock music with favorites being Pearl Jam, Mammoth WVH and Iron Maiden. He plans on studying sports management in the next few years at college.
