Ms. Sansaricq to the Rescue!

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s Ms. Sansaricq! A new superhero has joined Jericho’s guidance team. At the end of the second floor English Hallway a passionate, fun team player has joined our staff.

Ms. Sansaricq worked at day camps during her adolescent years and became inspired to work with children. She said, “I thought maybe I’d want to be a teacher, but I didn’t like being the center of attention.”

Ms. Sansaricq has extensive educational experience. She majored in Human Services and minored in dance at the University of Delaware. She then attended Hunter College for graduate school. She studied abroad in Barbados, where she discovered her dream to be a guidance counselor.

Ms. Sansaricq adores so many aspects of Jericho High School and is greatly impressed with the students, particularly with the effort everyone puts in to thrive and pursue their interests.

Ms. Sansaricq is settling in nicely and enjoys getting to know her students. She’s starting to make personal connections and learn about them on a deeper level. She said, “I love the relationship I have with students, and just being able to talk about anything–it doesn’t necessarily have to be about academics. And being that person they can come to if they’re ever having a hard time.”

When she’s not instructing and chatting with students, Ms. Sansaricq has plenty of hobbies outside of Jericho. She loves to travel around the world and create memories with relatives. “I have a lot of family in France and Europe, so I love traveling to new countries,” she said.

Ms. Sansaricq also enjoys being active and likes physical activities. “I used to dance and have been wanting to get back into that,” she added.

Her students love her and appreciate the energy she puts into work. She creates a safe environment for her students to open up. Freshman Janelle J. said, “She has a very calming and comfy kind of tone and vibe. I feel safe when I talk to her.”
