Welcome to Week 1 of Funny Foodies, a weekly restaurant review by Austin & Max. During these reviews, we hope to immerse you in our recent foodie experiences, inspiring you to taste new things.
Our first review is about Danny & Coop’s Cheesesteaks, which is co-owned by Bradley Cooper. We’ve heard the hype, so we were excited to try the food for ourselves.
When we walked into Danny & Coop’s in the East Village of Manhattan, the ambiance was very vibrant with loud music playing and people waiting in line, eager to try this cheesesteak. The line wasn’t terrible, since we both expected it to be way worse. The process was easy; we went up to the counter to order, and there was only one thing on the menu, which was a cheesesteak with Cooper Sharp American cheese and onion…you could ask for a side of peppers, too.
We ordered two cheesesteaks: one with peppers and one without. This way, we could appreciate the taste of the cheesesteak on its own, too.
Along with our cheesesteaks, we also bought Danny & Coop’s merchandise: cream-colored sweatshirts with the Danny & Coop’s logo on them. We admired the sweatshirts as we waited for our food, and our mouths watered as we watched people eat. Once we finally got our cheesesteaks, we headed to the car to try them.
In the car, we opened up those cheesesteaks; they smelled so good that we both couldn’t wait to try them. As we took our first bite, we both looked at each other like it was arguably the best piece of food we had ever eaten.
The cheesesteak was the perfect mixture of juiciness from the steak and gooeyness of the cheese, which was amazing, and the onions were sweet and caramelized. The peppers were an amazing addition, adding a sweet contrast to the savory cheesesteak and elevating the flavor even more.
Overall, Danny & Coop’s was delicious and met the hype. The whole experience was amazing and worth having again.
