Jericho High School students celebrated Spirit Week from March 9 through 13, bringing energy, creativity, and school pride to the hallways ahead of the anticipated 2026 Battle of the Classes. Throughout the week, students across grade levels participated in themed dress days, building their school and grade spirit for the culminating Battle.
Spirit Week kicked off on Monday with Pajama Day, as students arrived in comfortable pajamas, slippers, and onesies. The relaxed theme created a fun and laid-back atmosphere to start the week. “It was really fun getting to wear a matching pajama set to school with my friends,” said Lili B. ’26. “It made the day feel a lot more relaxed, and everyone was in a good mood.”
On Tuesday, students celebrated Red, White, and Blue Day by wearing the colors of the United States.
Students showcased their creativity with Wednesday’s theme of White Lie Day. For this theme day, participants wore white T-shirts with humorous “white lies” written on them, sparking laughter and conversation throughout the school.
Thursday featured Theme Day, when students dressed according to their grade’s theme. Freshmen, known as the “Friday Night Freshmen”, wore green. Sophomores dressed in yellow as the “Sleepy Sophomores”. Juniors represented the “Juniors of Oz” in red, while seniors showed their spirit in blue as the “Spider-Man Seniors”.
The week concluded with the epic Battle of the Classes, when students wore their grade’s shirts and dressed in their class colors. “Wearing our Battle shirts on Friday really brought everyone together,” said Liv A. ’26. “It was cool seeing all the grades in their colors and getting excited for Battle.”
Spirit Week helped bring students together, filling the school with creativity, laughter, and pride in the Jericho community.
