A Trip Down Memory Lane

By LILY WACHTEL

Recently, Netflix added the Nickelodeon fan-favorite television show “Victorious” which has provided teenagers with a nostalgic trip down memory lane.

“Victorious” initially aired in March of 2010 and ran for 4 seasons, unfortunately ending in February of 2013. It’s about a 16-year-old girl named Tori Vega who has led a relatively normal life until she transfers to a high school for the performing arts. Hollywood Arts is where talented students showcase their capabilities in theater, dance and music. Tori ends up with a group of friends consisting of her best friend Andre, spacey and dramatic Cat, mean girl Jade West and her boyfriend Beck, the shy and awkward Robbie and lastly Tori’s crazy and self-centered older sister, Trina.

Students are overwhelmingly happy with Netflix’s addition. Junior Jade S. said, “I feel like it was a really smart idea because kids loved this show so much growing up and it always made them happy when watching.” Students not only love that it’s back, but that they can now customize their viewing experience. Sophomore Sammie B. said,  “I’ve never been happier. ‘Victorious’ is one of the best shows, and the fact that we can now choose what episodes we want to watch is amazing.”

Sophomore Caroline G. said, “I am so happy ‘Victorious’ was added into the Netflix library because now I can watch my favorite childhood show whenever I want.”

Students are also thrilled with the fact that they now get full access to “Victorious” whenever they want. Sophomore Elena P. said, “It’s great. I used to love this show and now I can watch it all the time.”

Perhaps one of the best unintended consequences of this Netflix addition is that it is saving students money. Senior Madeline R. said, “I’m so excited about it so I don’t have to buy more episodes on demand.”
