Sunday Sports Selections with Austin & Noah: The Rams vs. The Colts

BY AUSTIN WEISS ’27 & NOAH ZUCKER ’27

Austin’s Selection: Daniel Jones has been on a tear to start the season, giving the Colts a record of 3-0 to start the season, earning him the nickname Indiana Jones. After having a terrible season with the Giants last year and getting released, Jones has been putting on a show to start the season, throwing for 816 yards and 3 passing touchdowns.

Jones comes in hot while the Rams come in off a loss to the defending Super Bowl Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. Jonathan Taylor has also been red hot this season, averaging 5.6 yards per carry. The Rams’ defense has been strong this season, holding Saquon Barkley to 2.6 yards per carry last week.

I expect Jones to air the ball out and have a monster day through the air as long his O-Line can hold the Rams’ impressive defensive front. My final score prediction is 23-17 as the Colts win in the final seconds.

Noah’s Selection: The Rams have a record of 2-1. Their only loss came against the defending Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. In that game, they blew a 26-7 lead in the third quarter. Matthew Stafford has 5 passing touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and 739 yards so far this season.

Puka Nacua, who has been one of the best wide receivers in the NFL this year, has 29 receptions for 333 yards, although he hasn’t scored a touchdown yet. I have him on my fantasy team, and I’m 3-0 because of him!

Kyren Williams, the Rams’ running back, has 55 carries for 226 yards, averaging 4.1 yards per carry.

Now let’s look at the defense. Jared Verse, number 8, is a great linebacker. He has 11 tackles, 5 assists, and 1 sack. Another key player is Byron Young, who has been a monster this season. He has 20 tackles, 7 assists, 4 sacks, and 1 forced fumble.

My final score prediction is 28-14. I see the Rams winning this matchup.
