Marcus’s Postgame Pulse: Jayhawks Fall to the Generals
BY MARCUS KRANZ ’27
On Saturday, September 27, the Jayhawks took their first loss of the season in a 42-13 thumping versus the MacArthur Generals. Jericho’s defense couldn’t stop the running attack from MacArthur. MacArthur’s running back Ethan Shapiro had 17 carries for 155 yards and 3 touchdowns, while quarterback Vinny Szucs accounted for 2 touchdowns on the ground as well. The Jayhawks’ offense, however, played quite well. Quarterback Max Spector ’26 threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns, which included a spectacular catch by Hudson Gingold ’26. Meanwhile, Brody Morgan ’27 led the way with 5 catches for 92 yards and a touchdown. The Jayhawks will look to improve to an impressive 3-1 start on Saturday, October 4, at 3 p.m. against the Bellmore John F. Kennedy Cougars.
