Jayhawks Look to Bounce Back Against Kennedy Cougars in Week Four Clash
BY MARCUS KRANZ ’27
The Jayhawks aim for a rebound victory following last week’s 42-13 loss against MacArthur as they travel to Bellmore on Saturday, October 4, to take on the Bellmore John F. Kennedy Cougars. The Jayhawks will look to make it 3-1 on the season, while Bellmore will try to even their record at 2-2.
Jericho prepares to improve the defensive effort against another run-heavy offense, while the offense works to build on last week’s performance. Reflecting on last week’s game, wide receiver Brody Morgan ’27 said, “Even though we did not get the result we wanted, we showed what our offense can do. We moved the ball, we made plays, and now it is about finishing drives and turning that effort into wins.”
While Jericho’s offense showed flashes of promise, the defense appeared somewhat shaky at times. However, in the second half of the game against MacArthur, the Jayhawks’ defensive unit tightened up with better communication, better coverage, and stronger presence closing the open gaps in the run game.
Prediction: Jericho wins 28–17 following a strong offensive air raid performance. Quarterback Max Spector ’26 throws for over 200 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Brody Morgan ’27 records another 100-yard game and has a touchdown, while running backs J.P. Wang ’26 and Jake Morgan ’27 each score a rushing touchdown. The defense bounces back and forces a turnover to seal a Jayhawk victory.
