Jayhawks Look to Rebound in Week 5 Battle Against Roslyn Bulldogs

BY MARCUS KRANZ ’27

As football season reaches its midway point, the Jayhawks will aim to get back in the win column as they host the 0-4 Roslyn Bulldogs under the lights on Friday, October 10th. In their season opener, the Jayhawks took the first matchup against Roslyn in commanding fashion, controlling all three phases of the game, and winning 31-8. During their last face-off, Jericho quarterback Max Spector ’26  threw for 113 yards and a touchdown. Looking ahead to the rematch, Spector said, “We need to do our jobs and pound the rock to wear out their defense.”

On the defensive side of the ball, Jericho’s defense looks to continue improving after they put up a better performance last week against Bellmore. During the last match-up, Jericho’s defense shut down the Roslyn offense, something that they hope to do again, especially as Roslyn’s offense continues to struggle, having only scored 11 points on the season. Meanwhile, on the offensive end, the Jayhawks will look to exploit the Bulldogs’ defense, which has given up a staggering 37 points per game throughout the first four games.

Keys to the game: Jericho’s offense needs to establish the run game to get the passing attack going. For Roslyn, however, they need to get out to a fast start and establish a good run game. Prediction: Jericho wins 35-7 behind an offensive explosion led by Max Spector ’26, and the defense stifles the Roslyn offense, led by Captain Michael Mosaklev ’26.
