Jericho Varsity Girls Soccer Scored a Stellar Season

The Jericho Varsity Girls Soccer team kicked off the 2025 season with determination, delivering strong performances both at home and away. With key wins under their belt, the squad captured attention for a successful season full of skill, teamwork, and spirit.

Much of the team’s success stemmed from rigorous practices, a strong defensive line, and a midfield that created multiple scoring opportunities. This season’s coaches emphasizes discipline and teamwork, while the players focused on supporting each other on and off the field. 

This year’s roster included several returning seniors who brought experience and leadership, along with younger players eager to make their mark. The team opened the season with an impressive record of wins, including decisive victories against rival schools. Their defense blocked countless amounts of goals, while their offense saw standout performances from key forwards who consistently put pressure on opposing teams.

Coach Dennis Demetres emphasized that “success doesn’t happen overnight — it’s the result of effort, discipline, and a willingness to support one another.” Team captain Lily M. ’26 added, “We’ve been pushing each other in practices, but also having fun together, which makes us stronger on the field.” Coach Petre commented that the team’s energy and sportsmanship “make the whole school proud and inspire other students to chase their goals.”

Beyond the team’s impressive season wins, the team’s bond and determination left a lasting impact on school spirit, truly embodying ‘goals.’
