Jayhawks Flock to the Tiny Nest
BY JANICE KWON ’27 & MIA SHU ’26
After a few years’ hiatus, The JerEcho is excited to provide a small stage for Jericho High School’s big talent with the Tiny Nest series. Tiny Nest is a JerEcho production modeled off of NPR’s Tiny Desk concerts: a series of live music performances featuring different musical artists performing in a small space, hence the name “Tiny Desk.” Tiny Desk was established in 2008 after producers of NPR couldn’t hear an artist at a loud festival and decided to invite them to perform in an intimate office.
With a similar idea in mind, The JerEcho aims to amplify hidden talents in the midst of a large student population. Established in 2023, The JerEcho held its first Tiny Nest Concert featuring Joe Cavallaro ’25 on the acoustic guitar. This year, The JerEcho is reviving the series with a twist. After countless a students expressed interest in auditioning, The JerEcho staff decided to host monthly Tiny Nest concerts. Each month, The JerEcho will feature a different student band or artist who will perform their very own mini Tiny Nest concert.
Be on the lookout for our first Tiny Nest concert of the year this November, featuring the band OFF-PITCH, with Sky S. ’28, Andrew H. ’28, Benjamin S. ’28, and Sophia L. ’28.
