Jayhawks Look to Start 2-0 in Home Opener Against the Carle Place Frogs

The Jericho High School Varsity Boys Basketball Team comes into the 2025 season with a totally new, youthful roster and they look to enhance last year’s success, as they finished 13-7.
Coming off a season opening win against Seaford, this season’s Jayhawks look to continue their momentum on Friday at their home opener against the Carle Place Frogs. This year’s Jayhawks team is young and led by Casey Deutsch ’27 and Max Spector ’26. Deutsch comes off a sophomore season on the bench averaging 7.9 points per game. He looks to explode in his junior season and lead the Jayhawks back to the playoffs.
“I think that we have a lot of talent,” said Deutsch, “I am very excited to see what we can do this season with all the potential we have.” With a win already under their belt, Deutsch and Spector look to harness the team’s success toward a season of domination.
Prediction: Jericho wins in a thriller, 63-60. Andy Chen ’26 will lead the team to victory with 10 points and 4 rebounds.
