Spotlight on Jericho’s Fantastic Future Business Leaders of America
BY HEER PATEL ’27
Jericho’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter is no stranger to winning.
In late June of 2025, Jericho’s FBLA chapter brought home three awards from the 2024-2025 National Leadership Conference (NLC) held in Anaheim, California.
Back in April of 2025, Jericho brought home 48 awards from the State Leadership Conference in Rochester, New York. Those who placed in the top three qualified for Nationals.
At the NLC, Dev L. ’26 placed first for Journalism, while Amneet K. ’26, Kaylin K. ’26, and Harnoor J. ’26 placed fifth place for Community Service Project, a chapter-wide event. Amneet won another award for Electronic Career Portfolio, where she placed fourth.

Amneet, who is also co-president of the Jericho FBLA Chapter, emphasized the significance of these competitions in not only growing Jericho’s FBLA program, but also a student’s personal network. Amneet said, “I think [NLC] really helped me because I was able to reach out to people from all around the school whom I’ve never talked to before.” Her success on both the state and national levels highlighted her passion and professionalism.
FBLA advisor Mr. Michael Goldin explained the value of the national conference in helping club members hone communication, networking, and creative thinking skills. He also noted how students gained a variety of diverse perspectives from competing against chapters from other states. Mr. Goldin said, “Through those competitions, students can see how their hard work shapes up against competitors from around the country.” Such large competitions allow Jericho’s chapter to level up and continue to elevate.
Preparation for these larger prestigious competitions take months of collaboration and commitment, which clearly paid off in the long-run for the 2024-2025 FBLA chapter. After Jericho’s impressive performance at nationals, the club is looking forward to an amazing year ahead.
Already during this school year, Jericho’s FBLA placed impressively in the Ready Set Lead (RSL) competition, with many first place wins and overall placing throughout numerous categories.
Current FBLA members hope to harness their track record of success toward a new year of wins. FBLA member Edwin C ’27 said, “the support from our advisors has been valuable to our competition success. With advisor support, studying, and collaboration, I look forward to seeing how we do at States this Spring.” FBLA member Aanya G ’27 said, “Jericho will hopefully sweep States to get to Nationals. With innovative ideas, leadership, and organization, I believe we can make our dreams a reality.”
