Funny Foodies Restaurant Review with Max & Austin: Hilltop Kitchen & Bar

BY MAXWELL GERSHWIND ’27 & AUSTIN WEISS ’27

This past Friday night, we went to Hilltop Kitchen & Bar on Jericho Turnpike. Hilltop is an American classic and a staple for Jericho and Syosset kids.

First, we started with buffalo wings and bleu cheese. Of course we ordered extra bleu cheese because we love our condiments. The buffalo wings were very solid; they were very saucy, but also the skin was very crispy because the wings at Hilltop are double-fried. Overall, we both agreed the wings were an 8.2 out of 10: a very solid rating.

For our main course, we both got a steak sandwich with fries and a side of truffle aioli. When I (Max) tell you how much I love truffle aioli, it’s honestly dangerous. I could dump truffle aioli on any food and I would still love it. Overall, the steak sandwich was decent, not great. There was a vinaigrette on it, and it honestly just didn’t pair well with the steak. Also, a lot was going on within the sandwiches. They seemed to have put a whole arugula salad within the sandwich, as well as fried onions, which was just too much in one sandwich, but overall, the steak itself was good and tender. Overall, we would both give the steak sandwich a 7.1 out of 10.

The steak sandwich had a lot going on, but the truffle aioli was everything. (Maxwell Gershwind ’27 / The JerEcho).

The best part of the night was definitely our waiter, who was probably the best server we have ever had.

We would give Hilltop a 7.9 out of 10. The server and our entire experience added an extra .3 points, so go to Hilltop for a good meal and even better times.
